Goal Giving a new and central role to ADL in the process of building a house through a design study aimed at designers and architects.
Concept When we say “home”, we don’t think of the set of materials and objects that make up the place where we live, but rather of an emotional space, made up of memories, perfumes, passions. A sort of mental place that needs unity and connection, deep and emerging needs to which the project I will present you has the will to respond.
Open Projects is, first of all, a design study. It’s a new home concept where the different areas are defined by dynamic connective elements that allow the inhabitants to experience spaces in a new way, while favoring the unitary perception of the house itself. It’s a contemporary interpretation of Mies Van Der Rohe “flowing spaces”, which involves the division of the basic elements of architecture into solid and fluid parts. The internal partitions and ADL opening systems play a central role in this interpretation as they are capable of combining the solid structural architecture with architecture and interior design. Just as in music where notes are connected by a melody, in Open Projects, the connective energy brings all the parts together and creates shapes with infinite aesthetic harmonies. It’s the flow of that energy that rules and arranges every single note of the compositional scene.
Implementation The Open Projects thesis was applied to three architectural forms that integrate Boffi systems with ADL connective systems, De Padova furnishings, Time & Style Edition and Ma/U Studio. Different compositional scenes have been generated to demonstrate how, as the shape of the flow changes, the overall scene is transformed and every single object is so consistent to the whole that it even merges with it. Sequentiality, Radiality and Connectivity are the names of these three projects that express the three different forms of connective energies.
What we do We took great care in the creation of the concept, the art direction of the entire project and the development of all communication materials such as newsletters, website and digital catalogues.
Collaboration For the development of this project, we collaborated with Made Studio for the architectural design of the 3 housing forms; with the Boffi|DePadova style department for the styling and furnishing of the interiors and with Nudesign, Studio, which dealt with the development of 3D models and digital images.
