DESIGNING THE RIVERBED

The relevance of the way

For over 30 years, we have been transforming visions, identities and ambitions into projects that create value.

We develop communication strategies, brand identities and design projects for companies and brands looking to stand out, evolve and make their mark. We bring experience, design culture and creative vision to business, building distinctive languages that express what makes each brand unique.

Argine is a communication and design studio founded on the banks of the Sile, the river that flows through Treviso. This setting reflects our approach to creative direction: “Just as a riverbank quietly guides the water towards the sea, we shape the creative flow that brings our clients’ ‘beautiful ideas’ to their fullest expression.” This is the philosophy of our founder, Giovanni Battista Gianola, which has always guided the Argine team.

Our approach is eclectic. Alongside a stable, multidisciplinary creative team, we collaborate with external professionals and specialists, assembling the right mix of expertise for each individual project. Argine works alongside prestigious Italian companies across the design, fashion, beauty and food industries, with a cross-disciplinary approach to every project. We are a communication agency that moves seamlessly between strategy and creativity, identity and design, digital and physical, always pursuing one goal: building communication that is coherent, distinctive and relevant.

Because, to us, creativity is more than a form.

It is a tool for creating value.

FREE THINKING. PRECISE ACTION.

The importance of continuity between strategy and execution

Everything we do is an act of communication. Yet, just as the design of an object is meaningless if it fails to convey the story behind its purpose, the thinking that gives rise to it has little relevance unless it finds a form capable of connecting with the minds of others. There is no good strategy without outstanding execution, just as there can be no outstanding execution without inspired thinking.

A sound marketing and communication strategy, supported by creative and art direction, must be followed by the consistent execution of a clearly defined commercial proposition. This encompasses product design, brand and corporate identity, naming and branding, packaging design, digital communication, web design, advertising campaigns, social media, photography and video direction, exhibition and cultural space design, trade fair installations, sales and editorial materials, advertising and B2B communication.

Marketing and Communication Strategy

An effective commercial proposition starts with a deep understanding of the market, its needs and the dynamics that shape it. Analysing the competitive landscape and target audience helps identify tangible opportunities and build a distinctive market position.

A clear marketing and communication strategy turns this understanding into action. It defines who to address, what to offer and how to communicate it, highlighting the strengths of the proposition and making it relevant to its audience.

Because value lies not only in what you offer, but in your ability to make it recognisable, desirable and distinctive. Argine works alongside clients’ sales and marketing teams, contributing its expertise to the development of the most effective strategies.

GIOVANNI BATTISTA GIANOLA AND HIS TEAM

Argine CEO Giovanni Battista Gianola, acting as Creative Director and supported by a team of five professionals, works alongside executive, sales and marketing management teams to maximise brand value as a driver of profitability.

Giovanni Battista Gianola was born in Venice in 1967. After completing his studies at the Graphic Arts School on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, he began his career as a graphic designer at advertising agencies in Treviso and Milan, where he further developed his expertise in graphic design and communication.

Throughout this time, he continued to nurture his passion for the ancient art of typography and type design, discovering the craft in historic typesetting workshops steeped in the scents of ink, aged wood and molten lead. It was here that Giovanni Battista developed his understanding of harmony, proportion and the aesthetic principles that connect individual parts to the whole. His curiosity led him to explore the “semantics of things” and the expressive power of form, inextricably linked to its function.

In 1996, he founded Argine, his design and communication studio, which continues to collaborate with prestigious brands in interior design, architecture and fashion.

His work is defined by a multidisciplinary and eclectic design approach. Giovanni Battista believes that every brand expression is a piece of its identity, and that each must be as authentic and genuine as possible. As Creative Director, he works alongside his clients’ management teams, bringing together his aesthetic sensibility and strategic marketing expertise to design objects, languages and visual elements that speak the unmistakable language of each brand he represents.
